RackWare SWIFT for Migration, Backup, and Disaster Recovery (DR) of Red Hat OpenShift
ANY-to-ANY Migration, Backup, and Disaster Recovery (DR) for your OpenShift-based cloud-native applications. SWIFT supports a robust sync engine to enable cross-cloud, cross-platform, and cross-version replication of your cloud-native applications.
Move ANY cloud-native application (from Kubernetes or OpenShift) to Red Hat OpenShift, on-prem or cloud - Cross-cloud, Cross-platform, Cross-version replication, backup, and DR support.
Migrate or set up Disaster Recovery (DR) between Kubernetes or OpenShift platforms, in any environment. Supports both OpenShift Origins (OKD) and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) - on-prem and cloud.
Set up migration or Disaster Recovery (DR) policies for full automation. Specify sync exclude windows and get push-button failover and fallback.
Break storage vendor lock-in on the source side by choosing any available storage configured in your OpenShift cluster for the target. All major cloud storage types supported.
The industry's first and only solution that allows migration and DR for container image registries. Migrate or set up DR between a wide variety of container image registries used with OpenShift - cloud and on-prem

Does this solution affect source application performance or impact it in any way?
No, as the solution doesn’t sit in your application’s IO path.
What kind of RPO and RTO times are expected with the SWIFT solution?
It’s a function of network bandwidth mainly as we copy changed blocks every time sync happens. For example, say you have two micro-services with multiple Pods, and 600GB of volumes with about 300GB uses space. Now, if you have a 100Mbps link between prod and DR, then replicating everything for the first time; it will take up to 7 hours or less. If the same set of applications are generating about 5 GB of changes every hour and you configure hourly sync policy, then delta sync each would take about 5 mins or less.
The data on-wire will be compressed, so the time taken is much smaller than the total changes divided by network pipe.
Can SWIFT to cluster connectivity be over WAN? What kind of security is employed for on-wire/in-transit data?
Yes, you can have your production, DR, or both clusters discovered and synced from SWIFT over WAN. SWIFT employs VPN-grade encryption for on-wire data, so data always remains secure.
Does SWIFT support cross-platform syncs? Which platform combinations are supported?
SWIFT supports cross-cloud, cross-platform, and cross-version syncs. We support all major Kubernetes public clouds as well as OpenShift clouds. On-prem deployments are supported too.
