A modern, scalable protocol adaptor for network integration between a Diameter-capable OCS and legacy (CAMEL) and NGN (SIP) call and message control protocols
The N-Squared Inter-Working Function (N2IWF) is a horizontally scalable protocol adapter for charging voice calls and SMS events by managing network sessions and communicating over Diameter Ro with a Diameter-capable OCS.
For voice charging, both SIP and CAMEL (INAP) call control is supported.
For event charging, SMPP, Huawei SMPP+, CAMEL3/4 InitialDPSMS and Ericsson SCAP is supported.
The N2IWF supports supplementary features including pre-call & post-call announcements, routing, and re-direction logic. Logic can be based on data accessed via REST, SOAP, or database lookup.
Announcement playback requires a compatible media server, such as the N2IVR.
The N2IWF may be deployed into virtual machine instances (VMI) within a Red Hat OpenShift Virtualisation environment. The VMI may use any of the supported operating systems.
The N2IWF supports CAPS rates suitable for operators of any size and is laterally scalable with N+1, 2N, or 2(N+1) deployment for High-Availability, Geographic Redundancy, and traffic growth using active/active or active/passive failover.
A graphical interface is provided for platform maintenance and operational functions include modern integration points for alarms, statistics, and Event Data Records (EDRs).
