Overview

YugabyteDB is a Distributed SQL database serving both scale-out RDBMS and internet-scale OLTP workloads with low query latency, extreme resilience against failures, and global data distribution. Yugabyte Platform provides deployment, orchestration, and monitoring for managing YugabyteDB clusters. Yugabyte Platform can create a YugabyteDB cluster with multiple Pods provided by OpenShift and logically grouped together to form one logical distributed database. Yugabyte Platform also helps with linear scaling of workloads by transparently adding new nodes to the cluster without any downtime.

YugabyteDB-as-a-Service on Kubernetes: Deploy your own YugabyteDB-as-a-Service running on OpenShift. Yugabyte Platform provides central management for multiple database clusters and includes 24/7 production support.
Monitoring & Alerting: Comprehensive monitoring & alerting without any additional configuration. Every layer of YugaByte DB exposes metrics in the Prometheus format. Given that Prometheus is essentially the de-facto standard for build-your-own infrastructure monitoring and alerting, you can get started with monitoring YugaByte DB in almost no time
Secure and Automate Backups: Schedule backups by interval or specific times. Pick what you need and where your data is stored including S3, NFS, Azure, or GCS. Encrypt your backups automatically.
Automated Software Upgrades: YugabyteDB powering a universe can be upgraded by clicking Upgrade Software from the More drop-down on the Universe Detail page. Select the new YugabyteDB version from the drop-down in the resulting confirmation and let the YugabyteDB Admin Console upgrade the universe in a rolling manner.
