HPE 5G Core Equipment Identity Register is a cloud native network function, and it controls end-user devices equipment identity data in a centralized manner, as per 3GPP standards.
HPE 5G Core Equipment Identity Registers manages End-user equipment status. It is specifically designed to be cloud-native and based on a 3GPP service-based architecture, helping to avoiding vendor lock-in. HPE 5G Network Functions are self- healing, scalable, modular and automated resulting in faster network updates.
This feature enables to check the equipment status (aka PEI) which is stored in HPE 5G Core EIR as block listed, provisional listed, or allow listed.
The consumer NF can use the received status to accept the equipment in the network or to reject it.
Centralized management of NF profile registration with an NRF server in the network
HPE 5G Core EIR can be deployed on a variety of CNCF compliant container platforms (CaaS/PaaS) and implements the following characteristics * Low touch, automated, multiplatform (CaaS/PaaS) deployment options and conformance * Brings its own CaaS/PaaS environment if requested by customers
HPE 5G Core EIR leverages a CNCF compliant container platform (CaaS/PaaS), and supports the following capabilities: * Resilient, robust, and highly available solutio * Overload control, fault tolerant, and self-healing * High-performance with optimal footprint and auto-scalin * Local and geo-redundancy models
