Oracle Cloud Native Core BSF binds PDU sessions to the correct PCF among many, enabling coordinated policy control for calls, messaging, data, and other 5G services across network functions.
Oracle Communications BSF can be deployed for specific IP ranges and one or more network slices. It provides binding support management services and consumes the NRF management service. It allows the Policy Control Function (PCF) to register, deregister, and update subscriber session binding information so it is discoverable by consumers such as NEF, AF, and NWDAF. These consumers use the discovery service to identify the correct PCF instance for session correlation and to trigger policy re-validation. To support operators during the transition from legacy IMS to SBA, BSF also supports Rx proxy functionality towards PCF, enabling continued use of existing IMS deployments.
