**PRODUCT DESCRIPTION** The Dell EMC PS Series volume driver interacts with pre-configured PS Series arrays and supports various operations, such as - Create, delete, attach (map), and detach (unmap) volumes. - Create, list, and delete volume snapshots. - Create a volume from a snapshot. - Copy an image to a volume. - Copy a volume to an image. - Clone a volume. - Extend a volume. - Manage and UnManage Volume support The driver service supports: - Multiple instances of Dell EMC PS Series Groups or Dell EMC PS Series Group storage pools and multiple pools on a single array. - Multiple instances of Dell EMC PS Series Groups or Dell EMC PS Series Group storage pools or multiple pools on a single array. When enabled and properly configured, the driver translates the cinder-volume API calls to the appropriate commands issued to the PS Series array. For example, creating and attaching a volume to a VM involves the following operations flow: - The user initiates creating a volume; cinder-volume invokes the PS Series driver to instantiate the PS Series volume. - The user boots a VM. - The user attaches the volume to the desired VM; the hypervisor layer orchestrates passing the iSCSI connection information for the new volume to the appropriate VM. To the VM, the newly-attached volume appears as a locally attached device. The driver is designed to work with the PS Series SAN arrays with the following capabilities: - Perpetual self-optimization with automated load balancing across disks, RAID sets, connections, cache and controllers. - Efficient enterprise scalability for both performance and capacity without fork-lift upgrades. - Powerful, intelligent and simplified management. - Improved productivity and streamlined IT infrastructure through unified block and file storage capabilities. **PRODUCT PAGE** This PS Series driver is included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.
