Ericsson Virtual Session Border Gateway a Virtual Network function(VNF) is a part of Ericsson Virtual Session Border Controller product.
vSBG is a high-performance carrier-class session controller product. It provides the ability to correlate all signaling and media streams (such as audio and video) that pass the network borders, hence providing a comprehensive suite of functions required to access and interconnect IP core domains (for example, IMS) and other IP networks with preserved security, privacy, and Quality of Service (QoS). SBG can be deployed in different roles and at different locations in various IMS-based architectures. 3GPP (IMS was originally standardized in 3GPP) have specified IMS-based architectures with network border functional entities, such as Proxy-Call Session Control Function (P-CSCF) and Interconnection Border Control Function(IBCF).
Ericsson SBG offers an IP Interconnect between Mobile Softswitch Solution (MSS) networks and other networks (PLMN/MSS, PSTN/TSS, IMS, IPX) that brings benefits like transmission savings, increased network capacity and alternative interconnect options to operators.
Red Hat certified products are tested to meet Red Hat’s criteria and supported as defined in the Red Hat Collaborative Support Process.
Partner validated products are tested by Red Hat Partners and supported as defined in the Red Hat Third Party Component Policy.
