The Agile Controller-DCN is the core part of Huawei's cloud network data center. Based on the hierarchical decoupling capability of the SDN architecture, it facilitates an automatic mapping from applications to physical networks, POD deployment, and visualized O&M for customers to build capabilities of service-oriented and dynamic network service scheduling.
The Agile Controller-DCN opens northbound Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) based on standard Representational State Transfer (REST), and facilitates collaboration of computing and network resources by seamlessly interoperating with mainstream cloud platforms and computing resources. The Agile Controller-DCN allows customers to flexibly deploy and schedule network resources based on their service development and enables the data center network to be more agile for cloud services.
The Agile Controller-DCN provides component-based tenant management, authentication, authorization, alarms and performance management, and basic mechanisms such as basic network management. In addition, it allows virtualization, automation, and visualization of the data center.
The Agile Controller-DCN can interoperate with third-party computing platforms in standard WebService mode, allowing collaboration of network and computing resources. In addition, it can automatically detect creation, migration, or deletion of VM resources performed by administrators on VMware vCenter or Microsoft System Center and synchronously deliver network configuration. Network configuration can be changed on demand, and network resources can be reclaimed in real time.
The Agile Controller-DCN provides standard southbound OpenFlow, NETCONF, and SNMP interfaces, which allows seamless interoperation with network devices such as switches, firewalls, and routers.In the scenario in which the Agile Controller-DCN interoperates with a cloud platform, self-owned and third-party computing resources are managed and allocated through the cloud platform. In the scenario in which the Agile Controller-DCN interoperates with a virtualization platform, third-party computing resources are managed and allocated through the virtualization platform. The Agile Controller-DCN automatically detects changes of computing resources and synchronously configures and delivers network resources.
