Ericsson Non-SIM Device Server (NSDS) is part of the Ericsson Session Border Controler (SBC) product.
Wi-Fi calling enables an additional access type to extend the operator’s voice and messaging coverage. With Wi-Fi calling for multi-device, operators can extend voice services to smartphones, tablets, computers, smartwatches, and other personal devices. By utilizing Ericsson’s NSDS, subscriber can make calls using their mobile number with not only their SIM-based smartphones, but also with additional devices like tablets and computers that have Wi-Fi access but no SIM cards. The NSDS network function allows a SIP client that uses credentials provided by a 3rd party service to access the IMS core network. The SIP client is authenticated during the registration procedure based on HTTP digest authentication.

Acts as an HTTP endpoint allowing the Authentication Server to terminate a SIP registration of a SIP user agent.

Acts as a B2BUA, allowing NSD Push clients to store Push notification parameters for later use when triggering a push notification to wake up the client.
